Challenge Objectives
- Explore information about the ocean or the marine species of your choice.
- Habitats of the marine species: Study the habitats where they live.
- Understand the impact of human activities on them and their habitats, and the challenges they face.
- Recognize the importance of conserving the marine species or ocean and learn how to take action to protect them.
- Showcase the actions each of us can take, such as promoting environmental education, marine education, and supporting wetland conservation organizations.
- You can choose to use different digital platforms to express your ideas on your digital art (e.g. illustration, AI-generated images, etc.)

Step 1: Choose a marine species or the ocean for your digital art
You can choose one from the list below, but it’s not required.
Step 2: Conduct research on your chosen marine species or ocean and find out
- Facts about the marine species
- Facts about its species/living organisms
- Facts about the human impact on the survival of the marine species
- Ideas about how marine species and the ocean can be protected
Step 3: Choose the materials you would like to use to make your digital art
Software:
- Adobe Photoshop: One of the most popular tools used for digital painting and image editing.
- Corel Painter: Known for its natural and organic brush tools.
- Mid-journey
Hardware:
- Graphics Tablets: Devices like the Wacom Intuos, Wacom Cintiq, or Huion tablets.
- Stylus-Enabled Devices: iPad Pro with Apple Pencil
- Computer with internet
Step 4: Create your digital art!
- Find out as much as you can about their background information.
- Get creative!
- Think about how you can make your art stand out.
- Choose colors and different elements that will make others say, ‘Wow’!
- Use words as messages to grab the reader’s attention!
- Finally, remember to make the reader feel their emotions! For then they will protect what they love.
