The U.S. Consulate General serves the needs of the many U.S. visitors to and residents in Hong Kong and Macau and promotes the diplomatic goals of the United States government in the two Special Administrative Regions (SARs). Hong Kong plays a unique role as a financial gateway to Mainland China and is home to close to 1,400 subsidiaries of U.S. companies, many of which serve as the regional headquarters or office.  The U.S. Consulate also supports educational, cultural, and professional exchanges between the United States and both SARs.

Empower Youths for a Shared Biodiverse Future program

The Youth4Nature – Empower Youths for a Shared Biodiverse Future program is designed to equip secondary school students in Hong Kong with the knowledge and skills to become champions for biodiversity conservation. As an ambassador, you’ll enhance your leadership, public speaking, and project management skills while deepening your understanding of local biodiversity and conservation initiatives through an engaging 3-month training program. Ambassadors will represent LumiVoce and play a vital role in spreading awareness about the organization’s mission and activities to the community.

2024 - 2025 timeline

Recruitment
The recruitment period begins with the Ambassador Leads contacting 20 international and 20 local schools across Hong Kong. Their goal is to recruit potential students who will be invited to participate in our interview process.
Interview
The LumiVoce team conducts interviews with students. Following the interview process, 10 students will be selected to join the Youth4Nature program, with 5 representatives from local schools and 5 from international schools.
Orientation
Orientation is conducted on December 10, providing students with an opportunity to learn more about LumiVoce and gain a deeper understanding of the Youth4Nature Program.
Training Sessions
Ambassadors will attend three training sessions led by different facilitators covering topics such as the 2030 Hong Kong Biodiversity Action Plan and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), exploring the connection between animal sounds and emotions, and a demo of biodiversity workshops
Community Outreach
Engaging and Recruiting 80 secondary school students from both local and international schools for upcoming workshops.
Biodiversity Workshops
Ambassadors will help conduct four workshops for six groups of secondary school students, providing guidance and support while sharing knowledge about biodiversity and conservation.
Graduation Ceremony
All ambassadors will receive a certificate at the graduation ceremony to recognize their achievements.
Presentation
Following the graduation ceremony, each ambassador is required to deliver a presentation. Outstanding presenters will be invited to join our Alumni Program, where they will contribute to supporting the Youth4Nature program in the upcoming year.
Alumni Program
Program ends, and the Alumni Program begins. Alumni will begin planning the content for next year’s program and start recruiting the next batch of ambassadors.

A Plastic Ocean Foundation (APO) is a charitable organization registered in Hong Kong, dedicated to creating a wave of change to stop plastic pollution and to be part of the solution through science, education, and policy advocacy. The Hong Kong Biodiversity Museum (HKBM) is the first museum in Hong Kong that is dedicated to biodiversity. It strives to be a natural history museum promoting environmental education and appreciation of biodiversity, fostering its preservation as a part of mankind’s natural heritage and by supporting scientific research on biodiversity. The role of the HKBM is crucial for the understanding and conservation of local and regional biodiversity, especially under the framework of the Biodiversity Strategic Action Plan by the HKSAR government and the Aichi Biodiversity Targets globally.

Crown Wine Cellars is located in Shouson Hill, an exclusive suburb on Hong Kong Island.
