Shelley Ng has performed extensively as a soloist and in chamber ensembles on three continents in the world’s most renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Seiji Ozawa Hall, Harris Hall, and Milton Court. She was invited to perform at prestigious festivals including the Tanglewood, where she also appeared in the Tanglewood Festival of Contemporary Music, Aspen Music Festival, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Taiwan International Festival of Arts, Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival. Her performances and interviews have been featured on RTHK and WHRB, Harvard Radio Broadcasting, Metro Radio HK, and Teledifusao de Macau.
During the 2023/24 season, Shelley curated and performed in two concerts—a solo recital for the Prison Yard Festival at Tai Kwun and a Turkish fundraising concert that she initiated, presented by the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and the Consulate General of Türkiye in Hong Kong. She was invited by the Consulate of the Czech Republic to perform on the country’s National Day, gave a recital in the Hong Kong Museum of Art and performed in 8 cities in the US, including Shenandoah University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Shelley is currently associate musician of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble. Prior to her return, Shelley was the staff pianist of studios of Midori Gotō, Pamela Frank, Bing Wang and Margaret Batjer. Shelley earned her Master’s degrees from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and subsequently from Rice University, where she worked closely with Virginia Weckstrom, Cho-Liang Lin and Norman Fischer.
