Tiffany Cheng

Tiffany began learning the viola and violin at a young age and received professional training in the String Division of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) under Mr. Ray Tsoi. She later earned her Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance at the Royal College of Music (RCM), London, studying with Nathan Braude and Yuri Zhislin. During her time in London, Tiffany worked closely with the RCM Symphony Orchestra, serving as principal violist for several concerts. She feels fortunate to have performed under renowned conductors such as Rafael Payare, Antonio Pappano, Vasily Petrenko, and Vladimir Jurowski, in prestigious venues like Queen Elizabeth Hall and Hall One. In addition to orchestral work, Tiffany enjoys performing in smaller ensembles. She has participated in masterclasses with esteemed musicians such as Jennifer Stum and Maxim Rysanov, and was actively involved in chamber music, performing regularly in concerts at RCM. Past projects include performing with her quartet in the East Parry Room and participating in the RCM Chamber Festival. Tiffany collaborates closely with schools as both an instrumental teacher and conductor, dedicated to fostering music development. She believes in music’s ability to empower the younger generation, enabling children to explore their imaginations, express emotions boldly, and grow into confident adults who reach their full potential.
