Charles Bedford is the Principal at Keelback Consulting. Prior to founding this consulting body, he was the Regional Managing Director for TNC’s Asia Pacific region in 2009. Based in Hong Kong, he worked closely with TNC country program leaders across Asia, as well as the region’s business and government leaders, to identify and advance our conservation priorities.

Prior to moving to Asia, Charles spent nine years leading TNC’s Colorado Chapter in the U.S. He also led the teams that created both TNC’s Mongolia and Colorado River programs. He is the author of journal articles, blogs, and a book on land tenure and conservation. 

Before joining TNC, Charles served as director of the Colorado State Land Board and was Legal Counsel to Colorado Governor Roy Romer. He graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and holds a JD from the University of Colorado School of Law.
