Marco Leung

Flutist

Hong Kong-born flutist Leung Chun Yin Marco is a scholar of the prestigious R C Lee Centenary Scholarship and Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship. Over the years, he has performed across England, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, and Hong Kong. As a versatile performer, he has appeared as a guest player with Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, Opera Hong Kong, City Contemporary Dance Company, and Bel Canto Singers. He also collaborated as a concerto soloist with the Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong and the Chung Chi Orchestra. His highly acclaimed chamber and solo performances have also been featured at the French May Arts Festival-associated projects, Tai Kwun Afternoon Series and Midday Oasis. Being awarded a full scholarship for all his degrees, Marco first graduated with first-class honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Music at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he studied with Ivy Chuang. He was then awarded his Master of Music with Distinction and subsequently Artist Diploma in Performance at the Royal College of Music in London. He was under the tutelage of Sue Thomas, Katie Bedford, Emer McDonough, Kathleen Stevenson, Stewart McIlwham, and Rachel Brown in flute, piccolo, and baroque flute.
