Born and raised in Hong Kong, Sean graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in violin, under the tutelage of Ms. Ho Hong-ying. He subsequently graduated with a Master of Music degree from the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden.

Sean attended various Baroque masterclasses and lessons taught by Monica Hugget and Nadja Zwiener at the likes of the New Dutch Academy, the Academy of Ancient Music and The English Consort.

He also participated in the NJO as associate concert master in 2012, and performed in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Deen Haag and Belgium with the orchestra. As an active chamber and Baroque musician, Sean regularly performs with Die Konzertisten and various opera companies in Hong Kong.

A forward-thinking music entrepreneur, Sean was formerly the leader of the Zephyrus String Quartet. In 2017, he co-founded the NOVA Ensemble and became the ensemble’s artistic director in 2018.
