our impact

I like red coral the most because my mom and I had so much fun painting the coral tentacles together. This is the happiest moment of this competition (for me) because we have never tried to paint together. I hope we can have more opportunities to paint together.

The reason I made this video is because I wanted to raise awareness about the pink dolphins because thev're really beautiful creatures. There's only 32 left in HK, and they're dying because of humans, so l wanted to raise awareness to protect and save them.

It's really hard to write when you don't know much about the subiect (wildlife), so I had to do a lot of research on the Chinese White Dolphin. I wrote the plot on my own, and when there are words that I don't know how to express, I used the dictionary and asked for my mom's help.

I felt sad for the elephants because they're endangered, but I also feel happy because I help to stop people from hunting them so they can have a happy life.

I learned a lot about how the specific animal that I chose helps the ecosystem that I live in…, and how we can help so it becomes not endangered anymore. I also learned a lot of creative skills like creating the characters and making a story that is frozen in one frame. The colors(grey and pale blue) represent sadness and a bit of loss. I want people to feel a bit sad (when seeing my work), so they are inspired to take action. After I finished, I sent my work to a few family and friends, hoping the work will educate them.

(Mother) She learned a lot during the competition. When Yuen Ying did research about the Chinese White Dolphin, she learned that the ocean is very polluted by plastic, and the sea creatures would digest it, so we started using less plastic and even started carrying recycled bags when we go out. It (the competition) also gave us (parents) a chance to learn about nature and biodiversity.

We can't cut off shark's fin to make soup. We need to protect the ocean and whale sharks because thev're dying, and it makes us sad. The ocean belongs to whale sharks!

My mom did a lot to help my siblings and I in the competition. It took us a few days to choose a song and we practice little by little, and a lot more before we record the song. (Mother) We're lucky to join the competition. They (children) need to think about nature through music, it's very special.
